If you only read this paragraph

Pick Voltr if you need to actively discover and recruit creators (outbound), run TikTok Shop, want code-level attribution, and prefer predictable flat pricing as you scale past $30K GMV. Pick Trybe if you have an existing audience and want creators to apply to your brand (inbound), your bottleneck is amplifying UGC into Meta Partnership Ads, and you want zero upfront cost with performance-based fees. The two can be paired, Voltr for discover-and-track, Trybe for the Meta amplification layer, though most brands eventually consolidate.

The shapes are different

This is the core distinction. Trybe is creator-pull: creators discover brands inside Trybe's marketplace and apply to participate in your program. You review submissions, approve content, and launch the best of it as Meta Partnership Ads. There is no outbound outreach because there is no need for one, the creators come to you.

Voltr is brand-push: you discover creators (via Instagram, TikTok, mention monitoring), send personalized DMs and emails at scale (2,500 invites a day), track which ones produce content and revenue, and amplify the winners into TikTok Spark Ads or Meta Partnership Ads.

Neither shape is universally better. Inbound is cheaper but ceilings out at "however many creators your brand attracts organically." Outbound is more work to operate but ceilings out at "however many creators you can find and convince." A pre-product-market-fit brand often has the wrong shape of audience for inbound; a brand with strong existing recognition can run inbound cheaper than outbound.

Where Voltr wins

Outbound creator discovery

Trybe's model assumes creators come to you. That works when your brand is already known. It does not work when you are pre-PMF, niche, or scaling into a new vertical where the right creators are not browsing Trybe's marketplace. Voltr was built to find specific creators, by Instagram handle, TikTok niche, audience demographic, and send them personalized outbound at scale. If you cannot afford to wait for creators to discover you, the outbound side of Voltr is the entire point.

TikTok Shop

Trybe does not integrate with TikTok Shop. The platform is Meta-side: Facebook and Instagram Partnership Ads only. If TikTok Shop is any meaningful part of your strategy, Trybe cannot run that side of the workflow at all. Voltr's TikTok Shop affiliate integration is native, Spark Code automation, code-level attribution, GMV per creator surfaced in the dashboard.

Per-creator P&L beyond performance numbers

Trybe gives you per-ad performance and per-creator revenue from attributed sales. Voltr extends that into a full per-creator P&L: revenue, orders, unique buyers, AOV, LTV, repeat-buyer rate, surfaced as a sortable table. Multiple discount codes mapped to the same creator merge into one row. For brands trying to decide which creators to invest in for repeat business (not just one-time conversion), the LTV + repeat-rate signal is the deciding metric, and Voltr surfaces it natively.

AI brand-compliance screening

Voltr ships AI video screening that uses Claude vision to evaluate every new creator post against your brand's rule sheet (no profanity, FTC disclosure required, no medical claims, etc.). Each post gets a Flagged / Approved / Review badge with per-rule reasoning. Brand managers only review the flagged ones. Trybe doesn't have a screening layer, content goes from approval to ad without an AI safety check.

Real-time pacing + monthly forecast

Voltr's Dashboard shows a pacing pill, "On track for $X this month, $Y annualized at the current N-day run rate." Calendar-aware projection so brands can pace against monthly goals mid-month. Trybe's reporting is retrospective.

Predictable pricing at scale

Trybe's 1.5% of attributed sales is genuinely cheap when you are starting. It scales linearly with revenue. The math:

Voltr (flat, ~$449 at the comparable tier) vs Trybe (1.5% of attributed sales)
$10K/mo GMV
Trybe $150
$30K/mo GMV
Trybe $450
$50K/mo GMV
Trybe $750
$100K/mo GMV
Trybe $1,500
$200K/mo GMV
Trybe $3,000
Voltr (any scale at this tier)
~$449 flat

The break-even crosses at roughly $30K/mo in attributed GMV. Below that, Trybe is cheaper. Above that, Voltr is cheaper, and the gap widens fast. At $100K/mo GMV, Voltr is ~$1,000 cheaper per month than Trybe. At $200K/mo, ~$2,500 cheaper. See getvoltr.com/pricing for current Voltr tiers.

Where Trybe wins

Zero upfront cost

Trybe charges nothing until creators drive revenue. If you are pre-launch or running a low-volume test, this is hard to beat, you are not paying tool fees while you have no creator-driven sales to attribute. Voltr's monthly fee is real money for a brand that does not yet have a creator program producing revenue, even at Voltr's entry tier.

Inbound creator pull

If your brand is already known to creators (DTC brands with a strong consumer following, recognizable products, lifestyle brands with a community), inbound is a genuine advantage. Creators who want to work with you can apply directly through Trybe. No outbound effort required. The marketplace model scales without the brand team writing personalized invites.

Automated payouts via smart contracts

Trybe handles creator payouts natively via smart-contract escrow. Voltr today routes payouts through Shopify or manual operator workflows. If you are paying dozens of creators on commission and the operational overhead of payouts is a real bottleneck, Trybe's automation wins.

Server-side attribution + AI angle tagging

Trybe's server-side attribution survives iOS 17+ pixel decay, and the AI angle/persona tagging on creator content gives you a structured view of what creative levers work. Voltr's attribution is also strong (code + UTM + per-creator GMV), but the angle-tagging is a Trybe-specific feature that Voltr does not currently match.

Can you pair them?

Yes, and some brands do. The pairing looks like Voltr for discovery + outreach + TikTok Shop tracking + day-to-day creator management, and Trybe for the inbound side of the funnel (creators who find you through Trybe's marketplace) and the Meta amplification of their submissions. The cost is two tools, two dashboards, two contracts to manage.

Most brands eventually consolidate. The decision point is usually around $30K-$50K/mo GMV: under that, Trybe's percentage pricing makes the pairing affordable. Above that, the math favors picking one and going deep on it.

Migration: what switching looks like

From Trybe to Voltr: export your approved creator list with their handles, re-import into Voltr's CRM, reconnect Shopify + TikTok Shop, kick off outreach to re-engage creators on the Voltr side. Approved content stays in Trybe's ad accounts; pull the creative files if you want them mirrored. Realistic timeline: 1-2 days of operator time, plus 1-3 days for Voltr to backfill order data once Shopify reconnects.

From Voltr to Trybe: most of Voltr's outbound discovery is not portable to Trybe's inbound model, so the migration is really a strategy switch as much as a tool switch. Expect to rebuild the creator funnel using Trybe's marketplace.

The honest verdict

Voltr and Trybe are not the same product solving the same problem. Voltr is a creator commerce platform that includes Meta amplification. Trybe is a Meta amplification platform that includes a creator marketplace. If you need outbound discovery, TikTok Shop, or predictable pricing at scale, Voltr is the cleaner fit. If you have a known brand, want zero upfront cost, and your bottleneck is Meta amplification of inbound creator submissions, Trybe is the cleaner fit.

Where most brands get this wrong: picking Trybe because the free entry is attractive, then discovering the inbound model does not match their stage of brand recognition, then either churning back to outbound or paying for both tools to cover both halves of the funnel.
